Relevant information about Province of Zaragoza

Information

Zaragoza is a large landlocked province in the northeast of Spain. Due to its location in relative proximity to the Atlantic coast, the province is characterized by a milder climate than the central continental regions. Summer here is warm, but not so dry, and winter is usually without frost.

Real State

Sale and lease of houses in Zaragoza starts from 10 000 - 15 000 euros. These are dilapidate buildings outside the city. But we do not recommend to consider such options seriously, because it is very difficult to restore such buildings.

More realistic and relevant is the sale and lease of houses in Zaragoza at a price of 30 000 euros. In most cases it is a remote place, but with good transport accessibility, minimal (but quite functional) repair and furnishing. For the price of 40 000 you can count on the city house, but with the same defects - lack of quality repairs and furniture.

Approximately for the same money - from 40 000 euros there are offers for sale and lease apartments in Zaragoza. Of course, such offers are secondary housing in old high-rise buildings. But for the doubled price you can find very good options with full furnishings and modern comfortable repairs.

Concerning new buildings, the offers here start from 100 000 - 120 000 euros. A modest town villa or townhouse will cost you approximately at the same price.

Objects of elite real estate are also available in the region, but in general, this is a really expensive housing worth several million euros. However, even a more modest amount of 500,000 euros is enough to invest in real estate and get a number of privileges, according to Spanish laws:

  • The basis for obtaining a residence permit

  • Schengen multivisa for yourself and family members for a period of six months;

  • The ability to take mortgage loans in Spanish banks;

  • The ability to fully manage the acquired living space and make profit from it

It’s quite easy to buy a land plot in Zaragoza. For 5000 euro, you can find a lot of offers here. Basically, these are objects of the former housing construction. Disadvantage - the costs will increase due to the need to dismantle dilapidated buildings.

Transport

There is an international airport In Zaragoza with direct flights from Moscow. The flight takes 4-5 hours - depending on the airline. Prices vary considerably, it is connected with the season and the date of departure. The cheapest options (round-trip) for the morning flights, booked in advance, will cost 450 euros. There are options for flight with a change in Brussels, Dusseldorf, Madrid or other European cities,

Zaragoza is connected by railways with Madrid and Barcelona. The journey from Madrid to Zaragoza takes about one and a half hours, the ticket costs 50 euros. The route from Barcelona to Zaragoza - 5 hours and 22 euros.

The bus service also links Madrid and Barcelona with Zaragoza. Travel time is up to 4 hours, and the ticket price ranges from 20-30 euros. There is also a bus service to other cities in Spain and France.

There is a free highway between Madrid and Zaragoza, but you will have to pay for the road from Barcelona to Zaragoza. In the city itself there are almost no free parking lots, that is why you should be ready for the costs, renting a car for travel around the province,

Attractions

Most of the attractions in the region are the Mudejar architecture preserved since the Middle Ages. Many of them are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can walk around the historical center of Zaragoza on your own and enjoy all its architectural diversity.

If you find yourself in the province in September, be sure to visit the grand festival Pilar, which is held on the 12th of the first autumn month.

Carnival in honor of the city’s patron San Valero Zaragoza, whose day is celebrated on January 29, is also grandiose

Of course, you should try the cuisine of the region - baked lamb, eggs in tomato marinade, smoked sausages, tapas, and for dessert - a peach in wine.
