Relevant information about Province of Teruel

Information

Teruel is a highland province of Spain, located in the east of the country. This region is landlocked, and protected from the warm Mediterranean masses by the Pyrenees Mountains, so the climate here is colder than anywhere else in Spain - there are even frosts in the winter. This provincial region is itself a monument of medieval architecture in the Mudejar style, which is a mixture of elements of Moorish, Gothic and Renaissance art.

Real State

Sale and lease of houses in Teruel is rather a popular service, because this province is famous for its sights and is an attractive place for tourists.  At the same time, the cool climate does not make the region popular among the indigenous Spaniards. Therefore, the sale and lease of apartments in Teruel is a great opportunity to become the owner of real estate in Spain. In the region the average price per square meter of living space is about 900 euros, but there is a lot of  low-priced housing here. Already for 40 000 - 50 000 euros it is possible to purchase a small city apartment in the secondary housing market. Approximately for the same money you can actually buy a country house. In this case, it is necessary to invest almost the same amount in repair.

Sale and lease of houses in Teruel is offered in various price categories - from budget to elite. Most of elite offers start from 500 000 euros. This is exactly the amount of real estate investment that gives advantages to foreigners:

● The basis for obtaining a residence permit;
● Schengen multivisa for the owner and members of his family;
● The possibility of mortgage lending in Spanish banks;
● The ability to manage the property and make profit from it.

It’s possible to buy a land plot in Teruel. There is quite a lot of land, sold with a permit for individual construction at a price of 10 000 euros.

Transport

There are no international airports on the territory of Teruel, so you can get to the province only by train or bus. High-speed rail lines are also absent here - because of the extreme upland, so it will be necessary to get from Valencia or Saragossa by regular train - and this will take two and a half hours. Direct rail service is not available with Madrid and Barcelona.

Through the capital - Teruel - goes the motorway linking Valencia and Saragossa. So you can get to the province by bus from any of these cities. There is also a motor communication with Cordoba, Cuenca and Tarragona.

Taxis are not in high demand, as the travel between cities and towns of the province by bus costs much less, and there are no big cities on the territory of the region. Even the capital can be walked around in just a few hours.

Attractions

The main attraction of the province is its capital, where many architectural monuments of the Middle Ages were preserved. The Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Church of San Pedro, the Church of San Martin and many other objects are in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In honor of the local lovers, Isabel and Diego, every year on February 14 is arranged a large costumed masquerade. Also, local cuisine should be referred to the sights of the region. Several times a year in the cities of the province there are large culinary fairs, where you can try a wonderful local jamon and wine. You can also participate in the hunt for a black truffle - an underground mushroom, which is found by specially trained pigs. A dessert with traditional local sweets will be prepared from the trophies after the hunt.

Albarracin is a small mountainous city with a population of only 1,000 people. It is one of the most beautiful places in Spain. There are no modern buildings here. All of the houses heve been preserved since the Middle Ages. In addition, here you can enjoy the beautiful mountain scene. In Teruel are carried out guided tours, but as the province is small and the sights in it are quite compact, you can go by yourself.
