Slaskie Voivodeship is considered as the biggest industrial point in the country. In the region the main European highways cross: Berlin-Wroclaw-Katowice-Krakow-Lviv and Gdańsk - Katowice - Żylina. The industries which are the most developed in the region are hard coal, metallurgical, car engineering and chemical. Administrative entities, educational centers, cultural institutions, big companies, industrial productions are concentrated in the capital Katowice and other big cities such as Sosnowiec, Bytom, Gliwice, Dombrowa-Gurnicha, Rybnik. Apart from the strong industrial side Slaskie Voivodeship can be proud of its unique nature. In the South of the region you can find a relatively low mountain chain, Beskidy covered with beautiful forest. In this mountain starts its route the main river of Poland - Wisla. The capital of the province Katowice we can call the student city. Big universities give a big opportunity to the huge number of students, so the city has 3 rush times per day: morning, evening and afternoon when students come back home. Katowice is a city of contrasts: you can find old, not very good looking buildings close to modern shopping malls and business centers. Here you can find quiet museums and loud night clubs, streets without any logic and eternal reconstructions. At the same time Katowice is a perfect place in Poland to move in. Here it's relatively easy to find a good job and the prices for rent or buy flats are lower than in other big cities.

The peculiarity of katowice is that it does not have a clearly defined city center line. What you should consider as a city center - train station, main market, the biggest park or Silesian University - none would not answer this question, that is why the city is divided in 5 zones (dzielnicy in Polish), each zone consists of several districts. The most important is zone 1. it unies everything considered central. The 1st zone includes 4 districts. It is better to rent a flat in Katowice if you visit the city for a couple of days. The prices here are not very low but it's very close to all main places of interest and you can find any kind of housing. 

In this case if you are planning to move to Katowice for a longer period it's better to choose some of the districts of zone 2. It's located not far from the city center, near Silesian Park. The same is applicable for zone 3. Zones 4 and 5 already are considered remote. There are a  lot of cheap flats in these zones but sometimes you can spend too much time waiting for public transportation. 

If you decide to invest in your own flat in Katowice your choice always depends on your budget. The most expensive square meters are in the center, zone 1. Zones 2 and 3 have 10% lower prices. And the lowest price you can find in zones 4, 5. Anyway, the most comfortable areas are considered outskirts of the city - Nikishovets y Byshovets. They offer to the buyer good infrastructure and good ecology because of proximity to the parks. In that area you can find different offers of houses for sale in Katowice.

Slaskie Voivodeship has its own airport Katowice Airport of Woicech Korfanty, which is located 23 kilometers from Katowice center. In order to get to the airport you can take a bus near central train station in Katowice, take uber or go by your own car. The trip takes around 1 hour. From Katowice airport it is also possible to take a minibus to Krakow, a popular tourist destination. The place in the bus you have to book in advance. A lot of airlines offer these options to their clients at the moment of buying a ticket. Almost all public transportation in Katowice is new and comfortable and perfectly connects all points of the city. There are several lines of buses and trams. For sure do not forget to buy a ticket before traveling otherwise you will probably be checked by the controller and pay a fine.

A trip by Slaskie Voivodeship will surprise as fans of active holidays as those who are fond of relaxing and see old architecture. You can find out what to do in the region during the whole year. In winter you can ski in the Beskid Mountains. During warmer seasons tourists can find a lot of aquatic entertainment. People who like castles and Christian architectural complexes also will find interesting objects in the province. Slaskie Voivodeship also offers exotic attractions such as deserts or going by boat through the catacombs. The places that can be put in the “to be visited” list are Slaskie’s Castles, catacombs, Yasna Gora - one of the most popular Christian places in Europe, parks of Miniatures in Slaskie, Blendowski Desert  and for sure its capital Katowice. The capital of the region is a diversified city. If you are interested in cultural and historical objects you will discover for yourself Mariatskiy Cathedral, Cathedral of Peter and Pavel, Slaskie’s Theater, street of Adam Mitzkewich, Museum of history of Katowice. Also Katowice can surprise you with the variety of different restaurants and cafes it offers. It can sound strange for an industrial city (when food is supposed  to be simple and nourishing) the most popular place for eating here is considered a vegetarian cafe “Golden dunkey”. This caffe invites its visitors to feel the hippy atmosphere of the Hippy movement and to take part in one of the literature evenings organized here. Also you can visit one of several places where they serve delicious dishes of local cuisine, among them Karcma pod Strzechom and Marysin Dwor. And do not forget in Gdansk good restaurants can be located not only in the city center but you can find charming authentic restaurants in the outskirts of the city, in the middle of precious forests. The capital of the province also has different shopping areas. It's impossible to visit Katowice and not enter one of the numerous souvenirs and other kinds of shops. People addicted to shopping should visit such shopping malls as Katowice Gallery and Silesian City Center, where you can find all kinds of shops and good discount offers.  If you are one of those who likes enjoying night life, you will discover for  yourself many nightclubs, thematic parties and a really pleasant atmosphere.
