Information

The province of Spain, Pontevedra, is located in the northwest of the country and is a part of the Autonomous Community of Galicia. The administrative center of the province is the city of Pontevedra.
 

This region has quite recently received the status of tourist destination, and now not all travel agencies offer tours to this part of Spain. This is due to the lack of fashionable resorts, noisy entertainment and all that are offered by famous resorts (Tenerife, Ibiza, La Coruna).

Climate. The proximity of the ocean has made this province one of the greenest areas in the country. The temperature here is comfortable: there is no exhausting summer heat. Geographical location. The province is located on the coast, so this allows it to be listed as beach resorts, especially because the whole coastal zone of Pontevedra is a part of the coast of Rías Baixas. In the south, the province borders with Portugal, which offers additional travel opportunities.

  • Elite housing. Houses, villas and penthouses represent this part of real estate market. Houses for sale and rent in Pontevedra are mainly of interest to Spaniards, Englishmen and French. Renting a house for one night costs about 100 euros, and the purchase is about 120-250 thousand. Luxury lovers will prefer elite villas in Pontevedra, their price starts from 300 euros a day. To become the legal owner of an elite real estate, you will need an investment of 600 thousand (on the shore of about 1500 euros).

Transport

By plane. There are no direct flights from Moscow. The closest airports are La Coruña and Santiago. From there you should take a domestic flight to Pontevedra
 

If there is no hurry, you can travel by train. Direct trains from Santiago and Madrid are provided for a more comfortable and fast trip.
 

Inland transport is represented by buses and taxis.

Attractions

The beaches of Pontevedra are unlike the usual sandy beaches of Spain. Here quiet beaches alternate with small coves and rocky shores, which creates a special colouring to local landscapes.
 

In the city of Pontevedra is situated the castle of Sobroso. In due time, this structure performed a defensive function, but then it was partially destroyed. After restoration works there is the Ethnographic Museum on its territory.  
 

Near the capital is the ancient fishing village of Combarro. All buildings there are made of stone. This settlement is a beautiful example of Galicia architecture.
