Information

Castelo Branco is a region in central Portugal bordering Spain. This is one of the least populated districts in Portugal, which makes it a favorite place for connoisseurs of nature and patriarchal life.

Nevertheless, today the region is undergoing active infrastructural development, which is gradually making it more and more comfortable for living, increasing the popularity of Castelo Branco among both the Portuguese and foreign citizens.

Real State

Low population density is the reason why real estate in Castelo Branco is significantly cheaper than in many other regions of Portugal. This makes this region very attractive in terms of financial investments. Moreover, new residential and commercial properties are being actively built in Portugal, which gradually leads to an increase in real estate prices.

Today, selling and renting apartments in Castelo Branco is one of the most affordable options for purchasing real estate. With a relatively small amount here you can buy a comfortable 2-3-room apartment with an area of 70-80 square meters. Usually these are objects that require some investments - for repairs and furnishing. But having a little more money you will be able to purchase an apartment that does not require investments at all in the near future.

If you are interested in new buildings, then the sale and rental of apartments in Castelo Branco is a great option. But there are not many such offers on the market. It affects the peculiarities of the country - construction here is mainly carried out by prior arrangement. That is, the same new building is being built only if most of the future apartments can be sold. Therefore, most attractively priced ads are for houses under construction, which means you have to wait at least 1-2 years.

Sale and rental of houses in Castelo Branco - a fairly affordable sector, both in comparison with the average prices for the country as a whole, and with neighboring Spain. Although at first glance it may seem that prices in Portugal and Spain do not differ much, especially in the luxury housing sector, a comparison by area immediately puts everything in its place. In Portugal, the vast majority of even inexpensive villas and houses have an area of 150 square meters. And for elite objects and 300-400 "squares" is far from the limit.

Sale and rental of houses in Castelo Branco starts from quite affordable prices, but these are quite old buildings, although they are well preserved, and often with good cosmetic or major repairs. Objects are 2-3 times more expensive - comfortable villas with an area of 200-300 square meters outside the city limits. But, if there is personal transport, then the remoteness of infrastructure facilities will not be a problem.

Buying a plot of land in Castelo Branco can be quite inexpensive. For small amounts , there are offers with already erected temporary or outbuildings.

Transport

You can get to the capital of the district - the city of Castelo Branco - from Lisbon. The journey by bus or train to Castelo Branco will take a couple of hours.

The district cannot boast of a well-developed road network and communication between settlements - some routes are carried out once a day, which presents certain difficulties, so it is better to travel by rented car.

Attractions

One of the main attractions of the district should be considered its magnificent nature. For example, the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Unusual terrain, many waterfalls and caves - all this, for sure, will please connoisseurs of nature.

The village of Monsanto is another attraction of the district, where huge boulders coexist next to the houses. It is located on a slope with a height of 800 meters, offering a wonderful view of the surroundings. It is noteworthy that the first settlement on this site was founded by Celtic tribes more than 3,000 years ago. Near the village is a fortress built in the 12th century by the Templars. Unfortunately, most of it died in the explosion of gunpowder, and only the remains of this once majestic building have survived to this day.
