Information

Aveiro is a county on the west coast of Portugal. Aveiro is one of the most beautiful regions of the country, distinguished not only by its picturesque nature, but also by a large number of historical buildings of the Art Nouveau era, beautiful beaches and a mild climate.

With all the pluses of the district, one more thing should be mentioned that makes it even more attractive - affordable housing.Since Aveiro is an attractive region both in terms of infrastructure and tourism, housing here is more expensive than in neighboring continental districts. Moreover, real estate on the coast can cost 2-3 times more than in areas remote from the ocean. However, the peculiarity of the coastal districts of Portugal is that there is a lot of housing in the elite class category, which is distinguished by a large area. If for Spain a house of 150-200 square meters is considered normal, then in Portugal for the same money you can buy housing 1.5-2 times larger in area.

Real State

Selling and renting apartments in Aveiro is the most affordable option for buying a home. The most popular here are  2-3-roomapartments withrepairs with a total area of 90-100 square meters. By location - this is housing near the ocean, but not on the coast itself. In more remote areas, you can find deals cheaper, but not by much. Selling and renting apartments in Aveiro at a lower price is quite rare and mainly concerns old housing that requires significant investment in repairs and modernization.

Sale and rental of houses in Aveiro varied. You can find very modest and middle-aged buildings with a living area often not exceeding 50-70 square meters. For a larger amount , approximately the same house can be purchased on the coast - within walking distance from the ocean.

A more spacious and comfortable house with an area of 150-200 square meters will already require significant investments. If you are looking for housing within walking distance from the ocean, then get ready to pay a really serious amount. Typically, such proposals belong to the category of elite housing and involve the presence of a swimming pool, a tennis court, a well-equipped house adjoining area, etc.

Portugal has rather soft laws, so the owner, regardless of his status in the country, can fully dispose of the property - rent it out or sell it without any penalties and restrictions.

Another option for investing money is to buy land in Aveiro. There is a lot of land here, although it is not cheap. Due to the active development of the region's infrastructure, all real estate and land are steadily growing in price, so it is most profitable to make investments now. The land itself is not very expensive - the bulk of the cost comes from obtaining a building permit and project approval. Depending on the purpose of the future building (residential or commercial), as well as the area of the site and its location, the cost of land varies widely - from 30,000 euros.

Transport

To Aveiro The fastest and most profitable way to get to Aveiro is by train from Lisbon. High-speed trains from Lisbon Station leave for Aveiro (the capital of the district) every hour between 06:00 and 22:00. Travel time takes a little more than 2 hours, the ticket price is from 26 euros.

There is an option to travel by bus. There are 6-7 flights per day. Travel time is three and a half hours.

In Aveiro itself (the capital of the district) there is public transport in the form of bus routes, which allows you to move around the city without any problems.

Attractions

Since the district of Aveiro has access to the ocean, one of its main attractions is the beaches that stretch along the entire coast. Urban development in Aveiro does not reach directly to the ocean, and therefore the beaches here are mostly not urban, but 3-5 km away from the city limits.

The city of Aveiro itself is also remarkable, which is rightly called the Portuguese Venice. In the central part of the city there is a navigable canal along which painted gondolas run. And the city itself is a real parade of flowers with bright colorful houses. To get to know the city better, we recommend taking a gondola ride. The trip is short - about half an hour, but this pleasure costs only 3 euros.
