One of the most popular and well-known events in the region is the Festival of the Virgin Mary, which is held in August and lasts 10 days. In this period a lot of foreigners and Spaniards come together from other regions. During the ten days on the streets there are a lot of performing artists, loud music, song and dance contests, and other numerous attractions and roundabouts.
Another important festival, which also attracts the attention of many tourists is Samantha Santa. It falls on the Holy Week before Easter, and includes plenty of religious performances.
